What people ask before they start, and the honest answers — including the ones about what Tabrillo deliberately will not do.
Yes, for everything that matters. Unlimited expenses, unlimited groups, unlimited people, all four split methods, balances, settling up and offline use are free at every tier including without an account. AI features have monthly limits on the free tier.
No. They tap a link, type a name and they’re in. No download, no account, no email address. They can add expenses immediately.
Never. It keeps the record of who owes whom. You pay each other however you already do and mark it as settled. That is deliberate — it is what keeps the app free and keeps your bank details out of it.
Yes. Start a group, add expenses, settle up. Add an email later and everything follows you to another device.
Enter an expense in any currency at any tier. The rate is fetched when you enter it and locked to that expense permanently, so balances never drift.

Yes — including from completely closed. Open Tabrillo with no signal at all and it starts, because every screen is already on the device. The twelve groups you have used most recently are there to read and to add to, and an update does not clear them. You can start a new group with no signal too, or a split with one person you have never split with. What you add syncs exactly once when you are back. Recording a payment and editing an expense need a connection, and say so before you start rather than failing at the end.

It never saves anything on its own. Both scanning and voice produce a draft you check first, and if the numbers on a receipt don’t add up Tabrillo tells you rather than guessing.
Anyone in the group can correct any expense, and every change is recorded with who made it. Nothing is silently altered.
