Tabrillo tracks who paid what, works out who owes whom, and — when someone disagrees — shows the exact expenses behind every number.
Free to use · No app to install for people you invite · Never moves money
In the app · Scan the receipt at the table · See when somebody names you as the payer · Keep adding with no signal
Tap any balance and see the receipt: which expenses, whose share, how it was worked out. Most apps show you a total. Tabrillo shows you the argument.
Open it from closed, on a plane, with no signal — not just keep it open. What you add syncs exactly once when you land.
On the plane, in the basement restaurant, up the mountain. Every screen is on the device before you lose signal, so it opens cold — and the balance you are looking at is the one that was true when you last had a connection, which it says.
The groups you have used most recently are there to add to, and an update does not clear them.
Starting a group works with no signal too, and so does splitting with one person you have never split with. Recording a payment and editing an expense do need a connection — the app says so before you start, rather than failing when you press save.
Send a link. They type a name. They’re in — no download, no account, no email.
Teal is owed to you. Coral is you owe. Settled is neither, and says so rather than showing a zero.
It keeps the record. You settle up however you already do — Venmo, UPI, PIX, cash, whatever. That is deliberate: an app that holds your money needs licences, compliance and your bank details. One that holds the record needs none of that, and can be free.
Ten things on top of the free ledger. Four are AI and a free account already has all four — receipt scanning, voice entry, a reading of a balance two of you disagree about, and a written reminder you send yourself — so what Pro buys there is more of them, every month. The rest it adds: balances shown in your own currency, Wrapped with AI-written captions, where the money went and over time, and patterns and search across every group you are in. For you, or for a whole group at once. What each one does, and what it costs
Tabrillo is a free app for splitting shared expenses among friends, flatmates and travel groups. It records who paid what, works out who owes whom, and shows the exact expenses behind every balance. It does not move money.
